NJCAA announces partnership with Team Cura
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced a new partnership with Team Cura to become the Official Student-Athlete Professional Development Partner of the NJCAA. Team Cura's mission is to improve student-athlete recruiting readiness with interpersonal skills training, confidence building, and performance improvement.
With the agreement, Team Cura will provide their Skills Beyond Drills℠ training curriculum through the Team Cura platform at a discounted rate to NJCAA member colleges, providing a meaningful experiential training program backed by research.
Skills Beyond Drills℠ was created in collaboration with coaches, athletes, and educators who have been there and understand the challenges students encounter. Student-athletes benefit from receiving the resources they need to master their interpersonal skills, improve performance, and be the best they can in the areas of sport, work, school, and life. The training program provides NJCAA member colleges with access to student-athlete data surrounding confidence building and emotional well-being.
"We are excited to work with a great association like the NJCAA," Rob Hughey, Team Cura Co-founder. "Team Cura supports the mission of the NJCAA to advance student-athletes' professional development that aligns with the educational objectives of member colleges."
For over 18 years, Co-founder Karen Hughey has taught business communications, human relations, and professional presence at NJCAA member, Johnson County Community College. With that experience, Team Cura created the most beneficial curriculum for student-athletes as they prepare to transition to a four-year university as a direct result of hearing the current needs of two-year college student-athletes.
"The partnership with Team Cura and the resources they bring to the table are instrumental with the ongoing success of NJCAA student-athletes," stated Dr. Christopher Parker, NJCAA President & CEO. "We look forward to our colleges connecting with Team Cura as we continue to provide opportunities that prepare them for the next phase of their journey."

About Team Cura
Rob and co-founder Karen Hughey were reminiscing about Rob's experiences as a high school and college golfer – all the uncertainty, the mistakes, and the little victories we made on his journey to play college golf. We had an "ah-ha" moment when recalling the countless hours and balancing all the priorities of a student-athlete – academics, practice, competition, jobs, family, and activities. So, we developed Skills Beyond Drills℠ based on our experience and what we learned. Every day we are excited to work with athletes to encourage and coach them and celebrate their successes.
