UAF School of Management Named NJCAA SAC Presenting Sponsor
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA Foundation has announced University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) School of Management and the Sport and Recreation Business Program as the Presenting Sponsor of the NJCAA Student-Athlete Council (SAC). UAF School of Management will support and work with SAC throughout the academic year and at the annual NJCAA Convention.
In November 2020, SAC held its inaugural meeting and announced the 48 student-athlete council representatives, one male and one female student-athlete from each of the 24 NJCAA regions. The council's meetings feature presentations and guest speakers, and serve to discuss association-wide happenings, questions, and concerns. As a presenting sponsor, UAF School of Management will be included in bi-monthly SAC meetings and on official council apparel.
"UAF School of Management and the Sport and Recreation Business Program is extremely excited to partner with the NJCAA," said Margaret Keiper, Ph.D. UAF Business Administration Associate Professor and Sport and Recreation Business Program Director. "As a former NJCAA coach and student-athlete I truly believe in the value of two-year college athletics and academics as a platform for students to reach their educational goals. We view the three-year partnership with the NJCAA Student-Athlete Council as a great opportunity to help student-athletes obtain their educational goals and look forward to working with the NJCAA."
At the NJCAA Convention, an opportunity for NJCAA athletic directors, coaches, sport information directors, administrators, and presidents to participate in professional development sessions led by association, industry leaders, and official partners and sponsors, UAF School of Management will have a booth to connect with NJCAA members and speak at the convention SAC meeting. Additionally, SAC representatives will have the opportunity to attend the in-person 2022 event thanks in large part to support from the UAF School of Management.
"On behalf of SAC, we are excited to welcome UAF School of Management to our insightful meetings and efforts," stated Kevin Thomas, NJCAA National Office Laison. "The UAF team will provide unparalleled opportunities for student-athletes to engage and grow through professional development and educational resources alike."
