Kayla Bartley Named 2025 NJCAA DIII Softball Pitcher of the Year
Charlotte, NC – A fierce competitor in the circle and an asset to her team. Kayla Bartley of Patrick & Henry Community College has been named the 2025 NJCAA DIII Softball Pitcher of the Year.
Bartley had a standout year for the Patriots as she led them to their second World Series appearance in as many years. This season, the freshman pitcher tossed a total of 172.0 innings for Patrick & Henry, the second most across all of Division III. She registered an impressive 1.99 ERA throughout the year and averaged 7 strikeouts per game.
"Kayla Bartley's recognition as the 2025 NJCAA Division III Softball Pitcher of the Year is a testament to her outstanding dedication, discipline, and competitive excellence. Throughout the season, she has been a consistent force on the mound and a steady leader for our program. More importantly, Kayla has represented our PHamily with pride, character, and class, both on and off the field," said Head Coach Robbie Campell.
Over the last couple of years, the Patriots have established themselves as one of the most elite programs in DIII Softball. After winning their first title in program history in 2024, Patrick & Henry kept that momentum going all 2025 as they were nationally ranked #1 for the majority of the year, finishing as the runner-up in the World Series. Their success was backed by Bartley's dominance in the circle. Her velocity, movement and presence on the mound is a formula for success that the Patriots took full advantage of.
Bartley had a strong showing in the 2025 World Series. She pitched in all five of Patrick & Henry's games, throwing three complete games and two shut outs. She struck out 21 batters over the course of the National Championship.
"This honor is not only a reflection of her individual achievements, but also of the values we uphold as a program. We are extremely proud of her and all she continues to accomplish," Campbell said.
