Sixth annual NJCAA Day slated for October 20
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA will host the sixth annual NJCAA Day on Thursday, October 20 as the association celebrates opportunity, history, and the unity of member colleges, student-athletes, administrators, alumni, and fans.
This year's comprehensive theme, The Journey Begins Here, will center around highlighting the amazing accomplishments of former and current NJCAA student-athletes, coaches, and administrators on and off the playing surfaces. Since its inception, NJCAA Day has sought to encourage collaboration around the association, uniting the past, present, and future of those who have passed through.
Often called JUCO, the NJCAA provides the opportunity for student-athletes across the country to compete at the highest levels of their respective sports. The NJCAA serves as a launchpad, reset point, or first opportunity for thousands of student-athletes each year. With this year's NJCAA Day theme of The Journey Begins Here, the NJCAA aims to shine a spotlight on the stories of triumph and success that have come from the association each year since its inception in 1938. The NJCAA is not just JUCO. The NJCAA defines JUCO.
The NJCAA encourages all to take to social media on #NJCAADay to experience the day-long celebration of the association and its members. A number of templates and resources for specific social media platforms to utilize throughout NJCAA Day can be found in the NJCAA Day Marketing Toolkit.
"Each year, NJCAA Day provides an opportunity for the association to engage with its membership, alumni, and supporters," stated Dr. Christopher J. Parker, NJCAA President & CEO. "With this year's theme, we are excited to celebrate the countless student-athletes who began their journey in two-year collegiate athletics."
Last year's theme, In This Together, focused on the 50th anniversary of Title IX, equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) efforts, sportsmanship, and NJCAA pride. As the first association to establish a women's division in college athletics, the NJCAA has a rich history of pioneering new and exciting opportunities for student-athletes and member colleges around the nation. Regardless of background and circumstance, each part of the NJCAA offers value and purpose.
